Does ASW see me as a competitor?

Please note that we take the experience of our members very seriously and want to make sure that they enjoy their time on ASW and are not disturbed by unsolicited promotions, spam, etc.

Our Terms of Service therefore state:

4.11 We want to keep the ASW Service free from intrusions. You may not send or distribute unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, promotional materials, junk mail, chain letters, spam, pyramid schemes, or any other type of solicitation to other members, nor will You stalk, harass or u

15 AS A MEMBER AND/OR BY USING THE ASW SERVICE YOU AGREE NOT TO (AND YOU AGREE NOT TO PERMIT ANOTHER PERSON TO):

15.8 Make unsolicited offers, advertisements, proposals, or send junk mail or spam to other Members of the ASW Service. This includes, but is not limited to, unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or other solicitation material, bulk mailing of commercial advertising, chain mail, informational announcements, charity requests and petitions for signatures.

I hope you can understand that we've been deleting several of your promotional and duplicate posts, we've also received some abuse reports on your spam messages and you never got back to us, asking for clarification on how to use the ASW site. I hope you can understand that we remove such unsolicited promotions because if we allowed them, ASW would be full of them. The majority would not be relevant for the reader and the discussions would therefore turn into a heap of junk for most members. People would stop reading and everyone would lose. And fruitful exchanges like the one you had asking for business help would become impossible because your request would go unnoticed in a flood of spam messages. I hope you agree that this would be a pity.

In light of the above, I'd like to invite you to use the ASW site if you could guarantee that you refrain from using the site to promote your company or services. Please do confirm this so we can rebuild your ASW account.
